Worker to sue Morrisons for facial injury

A 52-year-old man is seeking injury compensation from a major supermarket chain after an horrific accident permanently damaged his face.

Kevin Brookshaw worked as a stock replenisher at the Crewe branch of Morrisons before the incident occurred in December 2006.

He had pulled into the petrol station at the Dunwoody Way store to fill up before beginning his shift when an unsecured barrier smashed through the passenger side of the windscreen and into his face.

Mr Brookshaw has lost one eye and been left unable to talk, while he will need to be fed by a gastric tube for the rest of his life.

Morrisons admitted liability and was fined GBP 172,000 at Chester Crown Court, but Mr Brookshaw now plans to pursue an injury compensation claim against the supermarket giant.

It follows news that the husband of a woman left brain-damaged after medical mistakes has won a GBP 4.46 million injury compensation claim.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19417437-ADNFCR
