A man from Ruddington has launched a battle for injury compensation after he was assaulted and run over with a car.
Christopher Willis, 25, suffered a heart attack in hospital and effectively died for three minutes after being run over and dragged for 18 minutes by Majid Hussain, whose friends beat him as he lay injured in the road, the Nottingham Evening Post reports.
He also suffered a fractured pelvis and continues to feel the effects of his injuries nearly two years after the incident occurred.
Mr Hussain is currently serving a 20-year sentence in Lowdham Grange prison and nine other men were jailed in connection with the attack.
Now Mr Willis is seeking more than GBP 300,000 in injury compensation from Mr Hussain, the driver of the car.
It follows reports in the Cumbria Times & Star that a teenager who attacked a man in a Workington pub with a glass has been ordered to pay GBP 750 in injury compensation.
