A woman who was left with brain damage after being hit by a car travelling a just 3mph could be in line to receive a multi-million pound injury compensation payout.
Margaret Howard, 67, was hit by a Range Rover in Rochford five years ago and has been confined to a wheelchair ever since and in need of constant care, the Essex Echo reports.
The driver of the care has pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and the High Court has now ruled that his insurers are liable to pay injury compensation.
Ms Howard’s partner, Derek Pledger, said that the accident has changed their lives forever.
"Next month will be five years since the accident and things haven’t moved on too far. I’m her carer and it’s a 24-hour job," he told the paper.
It follows reports in the South Yorkshire Star that a man who suffered devastating injuries in a car crash is battling an attempt to have his injury compensation payout reduced.
