Great grandmother wins GBP 1k in injury compensation

A great grandmother has won GBP 1,000 in injury compensation after she was bitten by a neighbour’s dog on two separate occasions.

Maud Franklin, 83, had to spend over a week in hospital the second time she was attacked by the Jack Russell, called Bubba, the Gloucestershire Echo reports.

She suffered a 10cm x 6cm wound to her right calf in the attack and had to have a skin graft at Frenchay Hospital.

"I remember everything up to it and after that it’s a bit of a blur. I have not tried to think about it because I don’t want nightmares or flashbacks," she told the newspaper.

Earlier this week, Deborah Journeaux, 50, was convicted of allowing Bubba to enter Mrs Franklin’s property and was ordered to pay GBP 1,000 in compensation to Mrs Franklin and £770 in legal costs.

Meanwhile, Steve Tavinor, who used to play for Oxford United, has initiated an injury compensation claim for over GBP 300,000, the Oxford Mail reported recently.

Mr Tavinor was crushed by a car driven by Trevor Tyler as he unloaded scaffolding from a lorry in Steeple Aston.
