GBP 780k injury compensation for man with crushed head

An Essex man has received a GBP 780,000 injury compensation payout after he was badly hurt in an accident at work.

Mark Treadwell, 45, was working at the Southfields industrial estate in Laindon when a lorry driver reversed without looking, crushing his head between the vehicle and a wall, the Essex Echo reports.

He spent ten days in intensive care and has been left badly disabled by the incident, with no feeling in his mouth, teeth, tongue and lips – making it difficult for him to eat and forcing him to give up his sporting hobbies.

Mr Treadwell has now been given a GBP 780,000 payout from logistics company Schenker Stinnes Logistics, after the multinational firm admitted liability for the incident.

The news follows reports in the Rochdale Observer that a Milnrow man left paralysed by a sporting injury has lost an appeal after being told he cannot seek injury compensation.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19452838-ADNFCR
