GBP 3.32m injury compensation for Asperger’s man

A 49-year-old sufferer of Asperger’s syndrome who lost his independence in a road accident in south London has been awarded GBP 3.32 million in injury compensation.

Gideon Sklair was crossing the road with a blind friend in April 2007 when they were both knocked over by a car, the News Shopper reports.

He suffered spinal and psychological injuries that left him almost completely reliant on his carers, although up until the accident he had led a fairly independent life.

"Gideon may have had Asperger’s but on the other hand he knew his way around London, he was active and confident in himself," Mr Sklair’s uncle David Lee told the paper.

"After the accident of course it was all very different."

The news follows reports that a pensioner’s family in Kidderminster are to receive a six-figure injury compensation sum after administrative blunders led to his death from an abdominal aneurism.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19521622-ADNFCR
