GBP 2,000 injury compensation for cyclist who took a spill

A cyclist has claimed GBP 2,000 in injury compensation for an accident that occurred two years ago.

Antony Di Domenico suffered injuries to his arm, shoulder, knee and hip after an oil spillage caused him to slip off his bike on Delph Lane near Garstang, Lancashire, Bike Biz reports.

A claim against the Highway Authority and Motor Insurance Bureau was initially rejected because the incident had not been reported to the police, but a successful appeal won the GBP 2,000 injury compensation cash for Mr Di Domenico.

"It took weeks for the grazing to heal and several months for the bruising on my shoulder and hip to recover, but I continued to feel a muscular ache on my right hip for sometime after the accident," he told the news provider.

Cycling safety group CTC recently launched a campaign calling on the government to double the number of cyclists on the roads as a ‘safety in numbers’ approach to reducing cycling accidents.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19349340-ADNFCR
