Injury lawyers have secured GBP 350,000 in compensation for the family of a young mum who died from a tumour, after having being turned away from hospital three times.
Lavinia Bletchly, 23, was told by doctors that her cancer was merely a "figment of her imagination" and that it was not medical assistance she should be seeking, but psychiatric help.
The mum of two, who lived in Bridgend, Wales, was told by a second doctor that she was just constipated and should eat more fibre whereas doctor number three also denied her claims and turned her away.
High Court judge Anthony Seys-Llewellyn QC said: "This settlement gives the certainty of a very substantial damages for the dependants of Lavinia."
"Her two young daughters are in the care of an excellent father and a close and warm family," he added.
Earlier this week it was reported that the wife of a man who died from skin cancer after five years of working in power stations is seeking injury compensation over her husband’s death.
