Coach crash victim launches injury compensation claim

A man who suffered life-changing injuries in a coach crash while on holiday in Egypt is hoping to win injury compensation from the tour operator.

Chris Lock, 26, and his girlfriend were on a trip to see the country’s famous pyramids when their bus crashed into a truck in September 2008, the Bolton News reports.

Mr Lock came away from the collision with multiple injuries, including a broken shin, a fractured ankle and a head injury and has been unable to return to his job as a delivery assistant since.

He is now beginning legal proceedings against the Egyptian tour operator Orbit Travel on the grounds that the driver did not take a break during the six-hour journey.

He told the paper: "I am mobile but I have to watch how long I am on my feet for.

"I can’t move suddenly or manage steep slopes."

The case follows reports in This Is Somerset that a couple are taking legal action against holiday company Cosmos after a woman contracted salmonella in the Maldives.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19208420-ADNFCR
