In 2014 an retired lady Mrs W was visiting a large supermarket in Havant Hampshire. Whilst she waqs walking down one of the food aisles and slipped and fell due to a large water puddle on the floor and suffered injury to her left hand buttock, cracked left lower ribs, acute back pain, bruised/sprained knee and sprained left ankle . There were no wet warning signs and the puddle was so large the Mrs W’s clothing and shoes were made soaking wet.
Hayward Baker were instructed to fight a claim for compensation and submitted the claim through the insurers portal and received an admittance of liability within 8 weeks. A medical appointment was made for Mrs W with an Accident & Emergency Consultant so he could examine her and formulate a report upon her injuries.
Once the report was received by Hayward Baker Solicitors and was subsequently approved by Mrs W the medical report and details of other losses due to the accident was then disclosed in full along to the supermarkets insurers and as liability was not an issue asking that they make an offer in settlement of Mr W’s claim.
The claim finally settled for just over £3,500.00 which included £300.00 for physiotherapy treatment.
