What did Hayward Baker do to help?
Alison Spriggs one of our senior personal injury clams handlers took on this case on a No Win No Fee basis. Alison submitted the claim to the defendant insurers using the online low value personal injury claims insurers portal.
However the insurers did not acknowledge the claim within the time frame allowed and our client was informed that the claim has left the portal process but the case would continue under the personal injury claims Pre Action Protocol.
The insurers eventually acknowledged the claim and admitted liability for the accident on a ‘without prejudice basis’ which mean’t that as long as a medical report confirms our client was injured as a result of the accident, the insurers have agreed to pay him compensation.
Alison applied for our client’s medical records as these would be required by the medical expert prior to our client’s examination.
On receipt of the medical records Alison arranged for our client be be medically examined by a General Practitioner who would then formulate a report upon our client’s injuries. It would be this expert report that would be sued to prove our client’s claim and value his claim for compensation and any losses.
On receipt of the report it was reviewed by Alison and a copy sent to our client for approval. The report did indeed support our client’s claim and Alison asked if our client had any further expenses they would like to claim for example travelling expenses to and from the medical appointment.
Our client signed the approval form for the medical report and confirmed in writing to Alison that he wished to settle the claim now.
Alison settled our client’s claim for £2,800.00
