Our Maintenance Fitter client receives £7,500 for injuries caused at work due to employer negligence

factory workplaceHayward Baker’s client was at his place of work carrying out maintenance on one of the conveyor belts.

Our client was working up a ladder to reach the overhead conveyor belt when it suddenly started without warning. As the conveyor belt moved a large rock fell from it and landed on our client’s head. This caused him to fall off the ladder and suffer from a personal injury.

The Injuries:
Our client received a rotatory cuff tear to his right shoulder.

How Hayward Baker Helped:
One of our personal injury specialists Ria Tallack took on this case on a no-win-no-fee basis.

As the claim was of low value, Ria made the claim to the defendant insurers through the low value Personal Injury Claims portal. The defendant insurers continued on to acknowledge the claim and admitted liability for the accident on behalf of their insured.

Ria then arranged for our client to be examined by a medical expert, who was an Orthopaedic Surgeon. This expert formulated reports on our client’s injuries.

The Valuation:
The medical reports were used to prove that our client’s injuries did require treatment, and this helped Ria to correctly value the claim for compensation.

The Resolution:
After the defendant insurers agreed with Ria’s first offer, the claim was settled in full for £7,500.
