HGV Driver suffers injury when his vehicle is hit in the rear by another vehicle

van-3676_640Our client was stopped in a queue of traffic in Gloucestershire when the defendant driving a Ford Transit Van failed to stop and collided with the rear of our client’s vehicle. As a result of the collision our client suffered injury and loss.

Our Client’as Injuries:

Moderate to severe injuries to his back, shoulders, neck, arms and right leg.

What did Hayward Baker do to help?

Angela Ansell one of our experienced claims advisers took on the claim and notified the Defendant insurers via the Low Value Personal Injury  Claims Insurers Portal.

The defendant insurers acknowledged the claim and after a small period of investigation contacted Hayward Baker to say that they accept liability for the accident subject to medical evidence.

Angela explained to our client that this mean’t that as long as the medical report we obtain proves that the injuries were as a result of the accident then the insurers will pay him compensation.

Angela applied for copies of our client’s medical records which would be required by the medical expert that Angela was going to instruct to examine our client and formulate a report upon his injuries. It would be this report that would not only help prove the injuries but also help Angela value the claim for compensation and loss.

On receipt of the report Angela reviewed it and sent a copy to our client for approval along with  a covering  letter  setting out what the claim was worth and asked whether our client wished to settle the claim now on the basis of the medical experts report.

Our client was happy to go ahead and settle so signed and returned the signed  authorities to disclose the medical report to the defendant insurers and for Angela to settle the claim with the Defendant insurers now.

Resolution:

Angela settled the claim for £6,477.12
