Four figure settlement for sailor injured in a motorcycle accident
Accident Circumstances: Our client was riding his motorcycle along Longfield Avenue in Fareham Hampshire when the defendant driving a car drove into our client’s path causing him to fall of his motorcycle and sustain a personal injury.
Client’s Injuries: Our client suffered a shattered radius and ulna distal in the left arm and nerve damage to one of his thumbs. Our client was left with scars to his left forearm and skin grafts were taken.
What did Hayward Baker Solicitors do to help: One of our personal injury specialists Gary Lee who is a Chartered Legal Executive took on the case on a no-win-no-fee basis and sent a letter of claim to the defendant, who denied liability for the accident. Gary obtained evidence to prove that the defendant was at fault and obtained a medical report from a medical expert to show the extent of our client’s injuries. Court proceedings were issued as the defendant would not concede liability. As the proceedings were progressing and Gary provided evidence to clearly show the defendant to be at fault liability was finally admitted and an offer to settle settle was received from the defendants insurers. This offer was accepted by our client after receiving advice from Gary Lee.
Medical treatment was arranged by Hayward Baker and a claim for out of pocket expenses to include his written off motorcycle, storage charges for the damaged motorbike, loss of use of his motorcycle, damaged bag, damaged protective clothing along with helmet, gloves and physiotherapist treatment.
Resolution: Overall settlement of £15,000.00
