Woman suffers suspected whiplash injury in crash
13/04/2011A woman has suffered a suspected whiplash injury in a road accident in Bracknell, Berkshire.
The woman's purple Volkswagen Polo went off the road as she was driving along the A329 on Monday night (April 11th), the Bracknell News reports.
She was on the westbound carriageway between the Coppid Beech roundabout and Winnersh triangle at around 23:30 BST when the incident took place.
The driver moved over the hard shoulder and onto the verge before crashing into a tree.
Firefighters from Bracknell and Windsor had to cut the roof off the car and use a spinal board to remove the woman, who was then taken to hospital.
"She was in a lot of pain and badly bruised and probably suffering whiplash," firefighter Dave Budge told the news provider.
Earlier this week, the Lancashire Telegraph reported that a man appeared in court over an incident that saw a woman sustain a whiplash injury.
Nick Manger, 25, allegedly drove into the victim, having failed to defrost his van's windscreen properly.
