Woman cut free from car after collision

06/12/2011

A woman had to be cut free from her car by firemen after a collision which could potentially lead to car accident compensation claims.

The motorist escaped with minor injuries after her vehicle collided with a Royal Mail lorry weighing 7.5 tonnes on one of the busiest roads in Hampshire.

Emergency services were called to the site at around 07.55 GMT today (December 6th), and firemen worked to free the driver, believed to be in her forties, from her car.

She was taken to Southampton General Hospital with neck and back pain, but her injuries were deemed not to be serious.

Rush hour motorists were subject to delays of up to an hour as the junction between the A36 and A27 was closed.

This follows news that a pregnant driver and a 27-year-old man were taken to hospital after a car crash on the A9 Inverness to Perth road yesterday (December 5th).
