Widow makes GBP 300k compensation claim

02/07/2010

The widow of a man killed in a road accident has made a compensation claim for GBP 300,000.

Carolyn Corr, of Creekmoor in Poole, lost her husband in April 2007 when he was involved in a multi car pile-up on the A36 in Wiltshire, the Bournemouth Echo reports.

The accident was allegedly caused when Peter Bowyer and Graham Hooper, who were said to be involved in a bumper-to-bumper race at 80mph along the road, lost control of their vehicles.

Mr Hooper also died in the crash but Mrs Corr has now issued a writ against his wife, Jacqueline, demanding unlimited damages.

Bowyer, from Trowbridge, was sentenced to six and a half years in prison and banned from driving for seven years, the newspaper reports.

Back in May, a man left disabled after being in a car accident was awarded millions of pounds in compensation.

Nazer Ahadi was told by the High Court in London that his compensation claim had been successful and he was to receive a lump sum of GBP 2.3 million.
