Widow begins car accident compensation claim

30/03/2009

A widow has launched a £300,000 car accident compensation battle after her husband was killed in a crash last year, the Andover Advertiser reports.

Mary Evans, 54, is now suing the estate of Ivor Lunn, who was also killed in the crash between a Land Rover and a Peugot on the A303 near Micheldelver.

She claims Mr Lunn caused the accident by mounting the verge after failing to follow a bend, and therefore could not have been driving with due care and attention.

At the time of the crash's investigation a verdict of accidental death was recorded, after a police officer said vegetation at the scene had acted as a ramp and contributed to the severity of the accident.

Mrs Evans wants the compensation claim to cover damages for herself, her mother-in-law and the couple's two children.

Last week the Bexley Times reported that a man who suffered severe injuries in a road crash a decade ago had received £6.3 million in personal injury compensation.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19098583-ADNFCR
