Teenager makes compensation claim over playground accident

07/09/2010

A teenager from West Sussex has made a compensation claim against her local council over a playground injury she sustained 11 years ago.

Natasha Caley-Winborne, now 17, was just six years old when she allegedly tripped on an uneven grass bank at St Peters Primary School in the village of Ardingly, East Sussex, and banged her head.

The college student claims that the incident has left her with a personality disorder that makes it difficult to make friends.

In a writ issued against West Sussex County Council, it is stated that Natasha wants between GBP 50,000 and GBP 100,000 in injury compensation.

Back in July, the Huddersfield Daily Examiner reported that the family of a boy who fell off a see-saw and broke his skull had made a compensation claim against Kirklees Council.

The boy's mum Debbie Geisler said: "The thing that frightens me is that the ride is still there and a lot of other kids have come forward to say they have come off it."
