Rioter charged after policemen suffer whiplash injury
15/09/2011A man from Northern Ireland has been charged with rioting and causing police officers to suffer whiplash injuries in relation to disturbances earlier this year.
The 42-year-old man was arrested as a result of the trouble that took place in Ballyclare earlier this year, in which a hijacked bus was driven into a police convoy.
Six police officers suffered injuries in the incident, with the man now due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on October 6th to answer multiple charges including inciting violence.
Recently, a woman was taken to hospital with a whiplash injury after a car accident involving two vehicles in Lancashire.
The 47-year-old motorist, who is a resident of Darwen, Blackburn, had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance after the smash, which occurred just before noon on September 12th, the Blackburn Citizen reported.
Her Vauxhall Vectra taxi was travelling along Railway Road in Blackburn town centre when it collided with a black Renault Scenic, causing her to suffer the injury.
