Prison guard launches GBP 300k car accident compensation claim

06/08/2010

A prison guard has launched a GBP 300,000 car accident compensation claim after he was hit by a bus.

Jason Martindale was riding his motorcycle when the accident took place on August 13th 2007, the Lutterworth Mail reports.

He injured his left arm, head and fractured his right leg as well as developing psychological problems including depression and suicidal thoughts.

The 38-year-old has been unable to return to his old job because of the injuries he sustained in the road crash.

Mr Martindale, of Emerson Valley, Milton Keynes, is claiming damages from bus owner Arriva the Shires Ltd.

The newspaper reports a High Court writ as saying that the company has admitted liability.

Last month, the Press and Journal reported that the relatives of Inverness man Kevin Mykoliw, who was killed in a bus crash, had made a compensation claim.

Mr Mykoliw's family, including his wife, their children, his brothers, sister and two half-sisters, hope to receive over GBP 2 million.
