Pregnant woman's Mercedes destroyed in car crash

05/12/2011

A pregnant driver and a 27-year-old man have been taken to hospital after a car crash which could lead to car accident compensation claims.

The pregnant woman was unhurt in the incident, but her Mercedes was destroyed by fire, and she was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Her black Mercedes C180 car caught fire and was almost completely wrecked in the crash, which occurred on the A9 Inverness to Perth road.

Meanwhile, the man suffered pelvic and chest injuries when his white Vauxhall Corsa crashed into the Mercedes at approximately 08.00 GMT this morning (December 5th).

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A red Vauxhall Astra was also involved in the incident, but the driver managed to escape the accident without injury.

The crash caused traffic chaos on the road, with vehicles being diverted over local routes.

It is not thought to have resulted from the wintry weather conditions affecting much of Scotland.
