One Direction suffer whiplash injuries
09/01/2012Former X Factor boyband One Direction were left shaken when they were involved in a car crash.
The band survived the crash with minor whiplash injuries after their people carrier was struck from behind as they returned to their hotel after a gig in Birmingham.
A female driver smashed into the back of their vehicle at 30 mph in the city, which led to paramedics attending the scene to treat the band.
A source said: "It was a close call. The lads and their two tour managers were pretty shaken up and were treated for varying degrees of whiplash.
"Yesterday they were seen by an osteopath who gave them the all-clear."
The band were close to cancelling their gig in Plymouth the following night, but the band wanted to perform for their fans, who have supported them to a number one hit since X Factor.
"As soon as they got the all-clear they decided to go ahead with the gig. It's lucky dancing in their live shows is kept to a minimum so it did not put extra stress on their bodies," the source added.
