Former policewoman £ 500k after car crash
23/11/2011An ex-policewoman has made a car accident compensation claim after she was severely injured in an accident at work.
The squad car she was travelling in was involved in a serious traffic accident as it responded to an emergency call.
Jocelyn Lyons, 34, was a probationary constable in the Kent police force when the incident occurred.
She was forced to retire from the force as a result of her injuries and is now seeking an injury claim of more than GBP 500,000.
Ms Lyons is claiming that her career with the police force and her life was effectively ruined by the car crash, and she now suffers with mental health issues including suicidal tendencies.
The Kent police force is not denying responsibility for the accident but is disputing the amount of compensation being claimed.
Two police officers were recently treated for whiplash injuries when their car collided with a second vehicle in Haringey.
