Fiesta passenger sustains whiplash injury in Cumbria

19/04/2011

A person travelling in a Ford Fiesta sustained a whiplash injury in a recent car accident.

The white Ford Fiesta was being driven along the A590 on the afternoon of Saturday April 16th when it was hit by an on-duty police car, the Westmorland Gazette reports.

This incident occurred at the junction with Greenodd as a police officer was heading to an incident reported in Bowness.

It was the front seat passenger of the Fiesta that was taken to Furness General Hospital with a whiplash injury.

However, the police officer involved also suffered the same type of personal injury but was treated at the scene of the crash by paramedics.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact Sergeant Jo Walker at Ulverston's Road Policing Unit on 0845 33 00 247.

Yesterday (April 18th), the Sunderland Gazette reported that police officer Christopher Pearson was suing Northumbria Police after he sustained a whiplash injury in an accident at work.
