Family set to launch injury claim after toddler injured in Tesco
21/12/2011The family of a toddler who was injured when he fell out of a Tesco shopping trolley is set to launch a personal injury claim against the supermarket.
Eighteen month old Roman Herbert was shopping with his father at the Tesco store in Swindon when a wheel fell off the trolley, causing it to crash to the ground.
The toddler received treatment at the scene for a swollen cheek and numerous bumps and bruises and his parents are considering launching personal injury compensation claim as they believe the supermarket giant was negligent.
Mr Herbert told the Wiltshire Times that he wanted to warn other parents to check shopping trolleys carefully, before sitting their children in them.
A spokesperson from Tesco said that they had apologised to the Herbert family for any distress caused and all trolleys had now been checked at the store as a precaution.
A mother from Dundee is currently seeking compensation after her daughter was hit on the head when a rolling pin fell from the third floor window of a Boots shop in the town.
