Drug convict set to complete sentence after recovering from whiplash injury
14/10/2011A woman, who was sentenced to 210 hours of community work after admitting a drugs charge, has been given the all-clear to complete the unpaid work after recovering from a whiplash injury.
Just days after being sentenced Jane Price was involved in a car accident, during which she suffered a whiplash injury.
As a result of the crash she was signed off sick for six months, making it impossible for her to complete the sentence handed down by a judge at Swindon Crown Court.
She told a judge at Swindon Crown Court she could now do the work imposed in March as part of a one-year order.
Price was discovered to have bags of cannabis resin, as well as the flowering heads of plants, hidden in two bedrooms at her home, along with GBP 5,000 cash.
A man whose broken neck was misdiagnosed as a whiplash injury following a car crash has given personal injury compensation by the hospital which failed to spot the nature of his serious injury.
