Compensation for man run over after car mounted the kerb

04/01/2012

A man who was hit by a car when it mounted the kerb has received personal injury compensation for the injuries he sustained as a result of the accident.

Brooke Trotter was injured in the accident when a Ford Fiesta car mounted the pavement in Manchester city centre.

The car knocked him to the ground and caused serious injuries, which required nine months of hospital treatment while he recovered.

Mr Trotter suffered brain and face injuries which have left him with permanent physical and neurological problems and he now requires 35 hours of care a week to aid him in his everyday life.

According to the Scarborough Evening News, Mr Trotter's personal injury claim against the insurers of the car has now been settled, with the firm agreeing that it is 75 per cent liable for his injuries.

The exact compensation figure is not yet known, but is expected to be substantial in order to cover Mr Trotter's future care and support.
