Blackburn man awarded car accident compensation
20/10/2011A father of two from Blackburn has been awarded GBP 300,000 in car accident compensation after he suffered serious brain injuries in a collision.
Zahaid Hussain was knocked down by a silver-coloured Volkswagen Golf as he walked with his family.
He suffered four skull fractures and severe brain swelling as a result of the accident and even though he is now mobile again, suffers with psychological problems.
Mr Hussain was awarded GBP 300,000 in car accident compensation after the insurance company of the car driver came to a compromise with his family.
The High Court in London approved the settlement and the money is expected to be spent on measures to improve Mr Hussain's living conditions.
A member of his legal team said the personal injury compensation would allow Mr Hussain to have a more independent lifestyle.
Andrew Boyd, a Suffolk church worker, who suffered severe brain damage when he was run over by Pete Doherty's manager was recently awarded a significant lump sum in car accident compensation.
